Maintenance of Certification
In addition to the scientific program, three Self-Assessment exams will be offered, one each in the areas of cognitive disorders, stroke, and multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunology. One Performance-in-Practice exercise will be offered in cognitive disorders. The exams and exercise have been approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) as required elements for Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Parts II and IV, respectively. Each Self-Assessment exam is approved for 8.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits(TM) and the Performance-in-Practice exercise is approved for 20.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits(TM).
The MOC program requires physicians to participate in sanctioned self-assessment performance measures, identify possible weaknesses in their knowledge, pursue learning activities tailored to individual areas that need to be strengthened, and develop quality improvement programs based on their clinical practice. The goal is for participants to reflect on their personal knowledge and performance, commit to a process of improvement and reevaluation over specified time frames, and continually improve care for their patients.

Only registered attendees may participate in these activities. Participants will be provided a certificate of completion for each Self-Assessment exam completed. Once all steps of the Performance-in-Practice are completed, participants will receive a certificate of completion.
The registration deadline for all Maintenance of Certification opportunities is January 5 at 5pm ET. No registrations will be accepted for Self-Assessment exams or the Performance-in-Practice exercise after this deadline.
There will be a required discussion for registered participants of the Performance-in-Practice exercise in the afternoon on Sunday, January 16, 2022.
Target Audience and Learning Objective
The 48th Annual Meeting of the Clinical Neurological Society of America is designed to provide practicing neurologists with the most up-to-date information for the diagnosis and management of the patient with neurologic conditions. Each section is built around a specific clinical topic or topics presented by experts who provide practical information for evaluation and treatment of patients with neurological conditions.
The Annual Meeting is designed primarily for practicing neurologists. Other neurology health care providers including fellows, residents, physician assistants and nurse practitioners who work in patient care may benefit.
Statement of Educational Need
To be more capable of practice at the level of the standard of care, neurologists need a better understanding of the pathophysiology of movement disorders, cognitive conditions, multiple sclerosis, pediatric neurological conditions, neuromuscular conditions, stroke, epilepsy, headache and COVID-19. They also need improved diagnostic evaluation and management strategies in addition to novel approaches, including the use of artificial intelligence, in monitoring patients with these conditions. This conference is designed to improve understanding of and use of current clinical practice guidelines and recent research findings in the participant’s practices.
Learning Objectives
After participating in this CME activity, participants should be able to describe and discuss:
- Approaches to evaluating and diagnosing movement disorders, cognitive conditions, multiple sclerosis, pediatric neurological conditions, neuromuscular conditions, stroke, epilepsy, headache and COVID-19 based on current clinical practice guidelines and findings from recent research studies.
- Strategies for managing movement disorders, cognitive conditions, multiple sclerosis, pediatric neurological conditions, neuromuscular conditions, stroke, epilepsy, headache and COVID-19 based on current clinical practice guidelines and findings from recent research studies.
- Federal policy changes that impact patient access to care and the practice of neurology.
- Strategies and techniques for clinical encounters with patients using artificial intelligence technologies.

Attendees should book their own travel arrangements. Most airlines offer direct flights into nearby Tampa International Airport (TPA). The hotel is roughly 27 miles from Tampa International Airport. Taxis, ride share services (Uber/Lyft) and car rentals are readily available at the airport. Booking car rental reservations ahead of time is recommended.
Sponsored Lectures
In conjunction with the 48th Annual Meeting, CNSA is offering a sponsored lecture series. These lectures are provided as a supplement to the Annual Meeting’s programming and do not have any continuing medical credit associated with them.
All lectures are free and a paid Annual Meeting registration is not required in order to participate in the sponsored lecture series. Early registration is requested, however, attendees are welcome to sign up and join the lecture at any time, even after it has begun. All times are in ET.
